Non Pass-Thru Evidence Locker Systems  (EDLF)

Ensuring the proper handling of case evidence from the time of collection to logging is and has been an on going problem. Unmanned property rooms during off-duty hours and poorly designed locker systems are part of the problem.  DSM's Evidence Storage Locker System have unattended access and can maintain 'Chain of Custody' of all deposited evidence by providing safe and secure storage at any time.

DSM's Evidence Locker Handling System will ensure that:

  1. Any future access, by depositor, to evidence is denied.
  2. Once deposited, only authorized personnel can remove evidence.

Keys or combination codes are not required, by depositor, to access system.

How the system works ...

All doors of unused compartments are in the unlocked mode and held shut by the self-closers.  Vertical T-handles indicate vacant compartments.

Depositing

  1. Select vacant compartment on depositor side of locker.
  2. Open the door and deposit evidence.
  3. Close door and turn T-handle clockwise to horizontal position and hold.
  4. Depress lock button, located in frame adjacent to T-handle to secure door.

Retrieval

  1. Select compartment to be opened.
  2. Insert key lock located, in frame, above the lock button.
  3. Turn key counterclockwise to release lock button and unlock door.
  4. T-handle automatically reverts to vertical position.
  5. Remove evidence and prepare for permanent storage.
  6. Door is ready for the next user.
